



Glacier Face Discovery
With the safety of an experienced guide, this easy going, 1½ hour
interpretive hike will take you to the glacier face and onto the
moraine crest. Learn how glaciers shape, carve, and define the
land, observe local flora and fauna, and marvel the feats of early
sourdough pioneers. This discovery of the Thompson Pass
gateway to the Alaskan interior is perfect for families and/or
individuals with limited time at the glacier.
Glacier Trek
Moderate to strenuous, depending on your energy level, our
guides will lead you onto the ice of a true blue Alaska glacier.
Only accessible by trekking, unique glacier formations will awe
you: waterfalls, crevasses, seracs, mulans, and more. Only
possible with a professional guide, you will use all your senses to
feel the power of the glacier up close and personal. All gear
included. No experience necessary.
Glacier Ice Climbing
Ice climbing adventures for beginners to advanced climbers ready
to tackle glacial blue walls, ice towers, and seracs. Your guide will
teach or refresh your memory in ice climbing technique, rope
handling, and anchor building. Feel your crampons and ices axes
become an extension of your body while you chop and create
your own holds, moving in rhythm with nature. All gear included.
No experience necessary.
Alpine Hikes
Low to moderate intensity 3 hour interpretive and exploratory
hikes giving you a bird’s eye view of the spectacular alpine
environment. Look for the world of the teeny weeny and absorb
the young terrain recently left behind by glacial motion. Our
guides will lead you to incomparable opportunities for
photography and landscape appreciation. Learn local geology,
glaciology, and pioneer history. Just pull on your hiking boots and
come along.
Mountaineering
Many of the peaks surrounding Valdez, Alaska are rarely climbed
for recreation but offer some of the most breathtaking views of
glaciated interconnected mountains. These adventures can be
customized to match all abilities, whether its a walk-up, scramble,
or technical ascent. All equipment is provided, besides
hiking/mountaineering boots.
