ORTOVOX AVALANCHE SAFETY
Dean Cummings' H2O Guides is proud to partner with Ortovox and provide our heli-ski guests with superior avalanche safety equipment including Ortovox S1+ avalanche transceivers, Ortovox Free Rider 24 avalanche backpacks, and Ortovox avalanche probes and shovels. This equipment augments H2O Guides' top-down terrain management protocol that we implement during remote guided mechanized operations to mitigate risk and provide a better backcountry experience for our heli-ski guests. Ortovox S1+ transceivers and Ortovox avalanche probes and shovels are included with all of our heli-ski packages, and Ortovox S1+ Free Rider 24/26 avalanche backpacks are available to rent.
ortovox s1+ Avalanche Transceiver
The S1+ combines the success stories of two unique avalanche transceiver innovations: the display showing the relative position of avalanche victims and the SMART-ANTENNA-TECHNOLOGY™! Handling the device is more intuitive than ever. Once switched on, it transmits, but when opened up it switches straight to search mode. The illuminated 360° Real-Time-Display shows the position in the avalanche and gives unmistakable action instructions. As soon as the person searching begins the pinpoint search, the patented circular display and intuitive search acoustics help the location process. Located victims can now be flagged and the search can continue. Follow-up avalanche switchover and SMART-ANTENNA-TECHNOLOGY™ provide a safety plus for the user, while the economic power management protects the environment and your wallet – just two batteries are sufficient for 250 hours in transmission mode. Of course the device can be updated.
ortovox free rider abs
Protection and backpack in one! Who would buy a backpack and a protector separately, if both are available in one? A TÜV-certified one at that. The 26-liter model covers body sizes from 170 -195 cm. The SPS Pro² Protector can be removed and, thanks to the supplied strap, worn under your clothing. With the neoprene hip belt, the backpack ideally hugs the body and therefore is perfect for fast sports. As free riders no longer restrict their activity only next to the pistes, but also climb a lot, we have provided fasteners for ski, snowboard and helmet, and loops for picks and other gear to the similarly-named backpacks. Access to the main compartment via the back is hugely practical - meaning you don't have to rummage about in a black hole for your equipment, and snow is also kept out. Also included are safety, phone and camera compartments, the alarm whistle and accommodation for drinking system.
